Negotiate scopes, not deadlines.

The deadline is not negotiable. The scope is.

We strongly believe in that and here’s why 👇

Few things are as demoralising as working on projects with no end in sight.

Also, negotiating deadlines can lead to procrastination or losing track of the main objective.

On the other hand, if the scope is flexible, we can separate the must-haves from the nonessentials.

We can craft quality and set fair timeframes and budgets.

A deadline with a flexible scope invites pushback, compromises, and tradeoffs - all healthy ingredients for a project. Constraints are liberating. Realistic deadlines with flexible scopes can be just that.

When we say we’re going to deliver a project this quarter, it should be this quarter. What’s variable is the scope of the problem - the work itself.

Here’s how:

📌 We make sure we deliver the main objective of the project. That it solves what we set out to solve.
📌 We reassess resources and use them with the time limit in mind.
📌 We iterate and create increments that are actionable and deliverable.
📌 We constantly carve out nice-to-haves.

🎯 Our “demo-able” outputs approach helps us work in achievable increments, (re)assess the status quo, and make better decisions.
